When should I pick this over the H.264-only VeCODER?
Choose the H.264/H.265 model whenever bandwidth or channel count is the constraint — HEVC roughly halves the bitrate per channel, letting you run more channels and serve more viewers on the same network.
Can each channel use a different codec?
Yes. HEVC or H.264 is selectable independently per channel, so you can optimize each channel for its audience and devices.
Will older devices still play the channels?
Set those channels to H.264 for universal compatibility, or run HEVC where your players support it. Most modern smart TVs and boxes handle HEVC natively.
Is an external server required?
No. The built-in gigabit hardware server streams directly on your LAN or the internet with no monthly fees.
How do viewers watch?
Via IP set-top boxes, smart-TV apps, VLC, or our VePLAYER decoders for any HDMI TV. Multicast serves unlimited in-house devices.
Can I distribute over coax?
