How to choose the right HDMI RF modulator

How many channels do I need?

Count the number of separate HDMI sources you want on their own TV channel. One source (a single camera, one cable box, one menu board) needs one channel — the MINIMOD 2+. Several sources need several channels: the modular MINI BLADE (1–10), the rack RACK-2/RACK-4, or the high-density ULTRA+ (4 or 8). Unlimited TVs can then watch any of those channels at once — you only pay per source, never per TV.

QAM, ATSC, DVB-T or ISDB-T — which standard?

In the United States, use QAM for cable-style coax systems and ATSC for TVs scanning an antenna input. Internationally, choose DVB-T/DVB-C (Europe and much of Asia/Africa) or ISDB-T (Japan and South America). Every VeCOAX modulator supports all of these and you simply select the standard on the color display, so one box works on any TV on earth.

Do I need a computer to set it up?

No. Unlike many competing modulators, every VeCOAX unit has a built-in color LCD for channel, frequency and standard selection, plus an optional web-browser remote. Connect HDMI in, connect coax out, pick a channel, and scan on your TVs.

Will it work over my existing coax?

Yes. The +45 dBmV output drives clean HD up to roughly 3,000 ft over the RG6/RG59 already in your walls. Combine multiple modulators onto one cable with a coax combiner to build a full multi-channel headend.
